What is WUD

The World Usability Day was established back in 2005 by Usability Professionals Association (now UXPA) established to promote the values of usability, usability engineering and user centric design. WUD is single day of events occurring around the world that brings together communities of  professional, industrial, educational, citizen, and government groups for our common objective: to ensure that the services and products  important to life are easier to access and simpler to use. On November 14th Data Respons subsidiary, IT Sonix in Germany will host the Leipzig World Usability Day for the third time. Data Respons is gold sponsor for this knowledge-sharing event.

Design for the future we want!

This year’s WUD theme is “Design for the Future We Want”. The theme is inspired by the United Nation’s (UN’s) Sustainable Development Goals for the future. Usability professionals have to design responsibly ensuring the digital world is available for all, and that it is created with the environment in mind.

– At Data Respons we believe in enabling sustainability through technologyRight usability design is the key to get the most out of technology and the products we use in our daily lives. We support this initiative as it encourages making the right choices when developing the solutions of tomorrow, says Kenneth Ragnvaldsen, CEO of Data Respons ASA.

IT Sonix & WUD

Meet Christoph Specht. He is a Usability Engineer at IT Sonix. During his UX-studies at the University of Regensburg, he got involved with organising WUD and later met IT Sonix at a World Usability Day in Berlin. During this meeting, Christoph landed his current job! After settling in at IT Sonix offices in Leipzig, he introduced the idea of them hosting a larger WUD event in 2017. The 2019-event will be the third WUD IT Sonix host and the largest so far. – We are expecting around 200 participants from around Germany and hopefully abroad. – We are currently collecting papers for a wide range of topics on the topic “Designing for the future We Want”. There will be at least 6 different Talks, a Keynote and several Workshops.

For more information follow the event on Facebook or on IT Sonix website.
