Half a billion in order intake

A firm market position, excellent market conditions and an increase in large customers, is the main reason for Data Respons achieving a new record of half a billion in order intake for 2006. Revenue improved with 47 % to NOK 393 million and the operating result increased with 68 % to NOK 22.3 million.
 
Taking the lead in Denmark
Data Respons has, with the acquisition of Embedit, become the leading player within the Embedded Solutions market in Denmark. Revenue increased with 68 % to NOK 81.2 million and the operating result increased with 267 % to NOK 2.2 million.
 
- The acquisition of Embedit has contributed to a more similar structure between the Danish and Norwegian operations in terms of market position, competence span and customer profiles. This will make a significant contribution to the growth foundation for Data Respons in 2007, says Kenneth Ragnvaldsen, CEO of Data Respons ASA.
 
Focus on Sweden
The Swedish Embedded market has been estimated at five times the size of Norway's, and is therefore an important area of priority for Data Respons in the future.
 
- The acquisition of Memstore has provided us with growth in 2006. The acquisition of Syrén Software this year contributes to increased competence as well as geographical expansion in Sweden. In 2007 we will focus on strengthening our market position further, says Ragnvaldsen.
 
Data Respons Norway in top shape
In 2006 Data Respons Norway had revenues of NOK 229.1 million, an increase of 39 % compared with 2005 figures. The operating result (EBITDA) for 2006 was NOK 28.7, which equals a growth of 49 %.
 
- Data Respons has a strong position in the Norwegian embedded market with customers in several industries, says Ragnvaldsen. The impressive growth in Norway is due to a critical mass in all activity areas of the company. In addition, the number of new solution customers are increasing and our existing customer are buying more.
 
- Exceeding half a billion in revenue
In 2006 the order intake was NOK 502 million compared with NOK 348 million in 2005, equalling a growth of 44 %.
 
- Historically our order intake has proved to be a good estimate for revenues the following year. Our goal is revenues exceeding half a billion in 2007, says Ragnvaldsen.
