High-tech vessel stabilisation

Data Respons has delivered services in the fields of hardware and software for the development of advanced control electronics for the Sleipner stabiliser system.

Sleipner Motor wanted to develop a maritime-certified system based on the use of fins on the hull for stabilising boats upwards of 50 feet in length.

Data Respons developed both the hardware and the software for the solution.

Stabiliser systems have long been in use, but primarily on large passenger vessels and superyachts.

With its compact installation dimensions, the Sleipner stabiliser is ideally suited to boats measuring 50–130 feet, and thus opens the door to a whole new world of comfort. Sensors detect the movements of the boat and communicate with an electronic system that generates the appropriate counter-movement in fins attached to the hull.

This significantly reduces the pitch and yaw of the boat and ensures much more comfortable handling both while in motion and when at anchor.
