Since 1998 Data Respons has cooperated with the humanitarian organisation “On Own Feet”, which works with children in war-torn countries.

"On own Feet - Children for Peace" is a movement for love and peace started up by children. Its motto is: Children with Love - Children for Peace.

The movement has its origins in the fall of the iron curtain in Eastern Europe in 1989. The founder and general manager of the movement is Bela Gran Jensen. She was born in Czechoslovakia on 12 June 1943, has lived in Oslo since 1968 and has run the movement from the start.

The motto of the organisation is “Helping children help themselves”, with the focus on empowering children to reach their goals. Each year Data Respons sends out the individual and hand-drawn Christmas cards the children make, and also makes donations to specific projects. The donated funds are used to support or build health institutions and schools for children.

Examples of supported projects

Contributed to the reconstruction and equipping of the first Centipede school: Hamid Karzani school in central Pol-e Alam, Logar, Afganistan
Working on a project to provide running water to five schools: Logar, Afghanistan.
Obsterical kits for midwifes and doctors: Logar, Afganistan
Providing sports and teaching equipment to the children from Logar in Afghanistan and provided the children with firewood for the winter.
Helped repair the swimming pool in the Psychiatric Hospital for Children in Oparany (DPL Oparany) in the Czech Republic.
Provided equipment to a special school for weak-eyed and sightless children in Plzen, Czech Republic.

We aspires to be a responsible corporation in terms of labour standards, human rights and environmental protection. CSR is part of our value Taking overall responsibility.

Furthermore, Data Respons encourages all stakeholders to follow the same policies and expect them to follow international conventions, such as human rights, as well as local legislations.

The document outlines the group’s CSR policies, and shall be a guideline for the employees as well as a directive for how Data Respons shall conduct its business.

Data Respons’ CSR policies are in accordance with the UN Global Compact Principles.
